My Favorite Fics

For one reason or another, these stories mean the most to me.

A Mission of Hope

This began as an attempt to understand how and why a team of medics from the poorest part of London could make a journey to a South African mission in 1962. Probably my longest work to date. It certainly took the longest!!

The Thing That Matters

Between that awful interview with Mrs. Litchcroft and their reconciliation, we’re given only a handful of short scenes with very little dialogue. Here’s my take on that difficult time.

Catching His Breath

An exploration of Patrick’s thoughts as he learns to understand love. A companion piece to “Trying To Hear God.”

Dearest Friend

What was in those letters? This one makes me sigh. Plus, it’s how I became friends withTurnadetteFanGirl.

Love Fills In

Angela makes a connection with someone from her past.

A First Time for Everything

The original plan for this was a few one-shots, but it took on a mind of its own, and soon I was in a full-blown, eighteen chapter character study.

There’s a sweet little moment in Chapter that’s inspired by artwork by SincerelyRobinK. Check out her Tumblr blog!

Night Call

Wherein Patrick gets a black eye, and Shelagh gets…

This is my second ever fic, and you can see the depths of my madness even then.

The Tale of the Guard’s Armour, or Patrick Tells a Story

Bedtime at the Turner’s, and Angela asks for Patrick’s “Misty Road” story.

His Safety Net

This fic is set at the end of Series 4 Episode 5. Patrick has begun his recovery from his near-breakdown, and Shelagh has found resources within she hadn’t known existed.

I’m going to give this a Three Kettle rating, primarily because of the story’s setting (a bath), However, I think the kettles better reflect a level of intimacy rather than steam, which I think is actually kind of hot.

Courting Shelagh

Suddenly, Patrick and Shelagh just were, but every couple needs a chance to have that special time to get to know each other. With a little push from Timothy, Patrick sets out to win his lady.
