  1. So beautifully done. Every part true to character, every word as if it came from the actors themselves. There was so much that we were left to deal with ourselves during this time, the viewer left to find their way every bit as much as Shelagh and Patrick. Here we’ve seen it examined in detail; the hurt, confusion, anger, doubt and most of all love that is part of every real marriage. You allowed Shelagh to feel all of these emotions. She isn’t the paragon of virtue she is sometimes written as, she feels anger as much as the next person. And she has to find her way as much as we all do. The Turners came out the other side of this stronger and closer than ever, and you’ve shown us how that happened. Thank you. Have enjoyed every word of this. Well done.

    • Thank you. I’m so grateful that we’ve been given these characters to explore. They’re so lovely, it would be easy to idealize them, but that makes them less interesting. To have such a strong love, they need to be capable of so much more. The series explores it so realistically, never using drama for its own sake.
It’s this strong relationship that makes me less worried about the series to come.

  2. This fic series has really been just terrific, giving so much more depth to this very emotional time in their lives. You portray them very authentically and fill in the unseen folds in the story very nicely. Plus I like your ending to the reconciliation scene WAY more than how it ended on screen. 😉
